The OHCA Role of the Nurse in Community-Based Care (CBC) course is a 19-hour training program featuring a combination of live webinar training, online learning modules, tools and resources. Participants will discuss the foundations and basic principles of CBC nursing in ALF/RCF and how to operationalize the critical roles and responsibilities of a CBC nurse. Health service directors will explore the scope of the setting and practice, health service related regulations including medication administration and regulatory focuses, delegation, service planning, and RN oversight/assessment of both resident health care needs, quality improvement systems and documentation. Participants will discover how to implement proven systems that support efficient and quality health care services. Participants will identify how to prioritize responsibilities and time management and examine and strengthen current health services programs in their communities.
This course consists of 3-days of live virtual instruction (9:00am - 2:00pm) and approximately 3.5 hours of self-directed online learning modules daily.
