Corrective & Preventive Maintenance: Proactively Managing Maintenance Challenges
In this session, the presenters will discuss corrective and preventive maintenance, guiding participants to proactively manage maintenance challenges before they turn into big property damage events or safety hazards, including when it is appropriate to call in a professional vendor to help assess, mitigate, and remediate when an event like this occurs.

Survey Preparedness: Kitchen Cleanliness, Sanitization, and Inspection
Buildings are seeing an increase in kitchen-related citations during the survey process. Proactive upkeep of the various surfaces, along with adherence to cleanliness and sanitation standards is of the utmost importance for getting a pass on state survey. The presenters will discuss the maintenance professional's role in kitchen standards, and will walk through how to sanitize hard-to-clean surfaces such as kitchen tiles, walk off mats, vinyl walls, drywall, ceiling tiles, and various textiles.

Building Code Compliance Requirements and Update From the Fire Marshal
Providers work diligently to stay in compliance with regulatory requirements to keep residents and staff safe, as well as the fire and life safety survey process running smoothly. In this session, representatives from the Oregon State Fire Marshal will discuss staying in compliance with building code, and what maintenance professionals can do to stay up to code.

OSHA in Healthcare: Common Safety and Health Hazards and Solutions
This session will cover the most common worker hazards and/or violations found during OR-OSHA investigations and available methods of abatement. The presenter will describe ways in which long term care facilities can prepare for a successful OR-OSHA inspection by reviewing the areas of focus for inspections. The session will emphasize areas where communities may be vulnerable and will provide resources for injury prevention assistance. The presenter will also discuss implementing successful safety committees within the building.
